Market Snapshot January 9, 2019
Good Morning on this fantastic Wednesday,
I am getting a bit of a late start. Markets are fairly stable and the commentary from Dan Rawitch is on point.
Rates are flat this morning, but under some pressure. Investors are cautiously optimistic about a trade deal, now that the trade talks have concluded. The results of the talks will not be disclosed until tomorrow. I find this surprising and potentially they could be sitting on some bad news. Trump has not been one to sit on good news. The market sees it differently, as the DOW is up almost 200 points again.
The Fed minutes were released and were slightly dovish. The Fed was clear they can be patient if needed (or data suggests they should be) with regard to additional rate hikes.
Right now, I would play defense
Make today great!
